Simon introduction

Simon Baker is born in Launceston, in Australia, on july 30th 1969. He's Elizabeth Labberton's son, english professor in scondary school, and from Barry Baker, mecanician. Simon Baker was a compleat sport boy during his teen age life. He praticed a lot of competitions at national level, in surf and in water-polo. He started his actor's career on australian tv at the end of the 80's, behind "Simon Baker Denny" name. He first filmed in videos clips, like the one of Melissa Tkautz ("Read my lips") or on "'Euphoria's", ("Love you Right") in 1991. After he made some appeaances in success' dramas like E Street, Home and Away or Hartley. He then moved to States, where he was known under his new father (like "Simon Baker-Denny" or "Simon Denny").

He won the casting of L.A. Confidential, for a short role but important in frist young actor. That opened doors to him for other roles. In 2000 he played a spaceman in "Red Planet" with Val Kilmer, Carrie Anne Moss and Benjamin Pratt. He played too the first man role in the tv drama "The Protector", who started in 2001, during three seasons; and he appeared in "The affair of the necklace" in 2001. Recently, he played Brian Kelly in "Something new", Roderick Blank in "Sex and Death", and Christian Thomson in "Devil wears Prada". In the movie "Devil wears Prada", we the see when he get out from the shower that he have a great scar across his belly.


Simon Baker was maried during 3 years to an australian woman, he had two children with her. He's maried since 1998 to Rebecca Rigg, he has three children with : Stella, born in 1993, Claude, born in 1998, and Harry, born in 2001. The couple is really friend with Nicole Kidman, who is Harry's godmother. And their other child Claude had for godmother Naomi Watts who is a friend too.

His wife and he lived till less ago in Malibu in California, but they recently moved to Sydney, in Australia.
